It's been eight days since I've posted anything, a new record for me. I don't think I let my blog slide like this even when my computer was down. I have nothing to say that is of any value, not that that kept me from writing before. My days are all the same lately, boring, do nothing but watch TV days. I've seen countless numbers of commercials that keep reminding me that Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up. Commercials telling me that to be happy I need to spend large sums of money of which I don't have. It all makes a girl want to say "bah humbug" and be done with the whole thing. I never did like the holidays anyway, now depressed it's even worse. I have seen one commercial that made me laugh though. It's for the pistachio growers association. Remember Levy Johnston, Bristol Palin's (Sarah's daughter) babies daddy? The commercial shows him with a muscle bound guy and the voice over says, "Levy Johnston does it with protection" as he cracks a nut and eats it. Bet he wishes he'd had some protection when he got his nut with Bristol! lol
Patty Lou's ankle gave us a scare Monday. Her foot and half of her leg swelled up and turned an ugly shade of purple. She called the doctor and was told to elevate it , which helped. By Tuesday it looked almost like a normal foot again. We don't know what caused it, she'd not been on it much. I guess she's just pushing it too hard trying to get back to work. I'll sure be glad when this is all done. It's really getting to me.
No news on the work front. Patty Lou even said how dead it looked in town yesterday morning at a time when it should have been busy. This is a tourist town with no tourists. Bad, very bad.
Ok, I just wanted to check in. Not to worry, my world hasn't come to an end and I've not been captured by aliens as depicted in movies and TV! lol

Not using protection, turned out to be a stroke of luck for Levy Johnston. As Sarah Palin's daughter's baby daddy, he has gained notoriety, and he has parlayed that notoriety into a "tell all" book deal, a Playgirl photo shoot, commercials, and lots of TV appearances. His fifteen minutes of fame, has so far become more like fifteen months.
I hope Patty Lou is doing better. When you described her symptoms, the first thing that sprang to mind was a blood clot, but if that was the case, the doctor who have told her to get to a hospital right away. Poor thing! I'm sure she has been frustrated with her limited mobility these past few months.

Nice to hear from you, Steph... :-)
Think Patti Lou needs to get to a doc with that ankle. Melissa may be right...
I live in a place where 99% of the economy is Tourism, and at this time of year the place is dead and deary, so I know whereof you speak, lass. :-(
Lots of love

In the UK we have nothing to give thanks for and christmas is ruined before it happens with over comercialisation. I have been told I shall get a book my wife wants on cheap cooking! and she has a small box of music dvds she wants and I have to find them 'cos she does not trust santa. Othervise just a few childless folk get together for a sunday lunch mid week. We may wear paper hats.

Today is my wife's 55th and for the first time ever I don't have a gift or a card for her...we've agreed we shouldn't and my only hope is that next month she doesn't pull a fast one on me and leave me wallowing in guilt for the next year! (She's done that to me with Christmas before.)
Unless there's some reason she can't take aspirin, I might be taking some as a precaution were I your beloved!
Thank you for checking in...I worry!

Alan's right about the aspirin. I take 81mg a day with my hormone meds, to prevent DVT. Having a purple leg and foot would scare the living hell out of me! She needs to take it easy with returning to work. Forcing the issue only does bad things to your body. My Nikki has been guilty of that quite a few times.
There hasn't been much going on with me either. Somehow, though, I always find things to blog about. We'll see how long that lasts. In any case, it's good to "see" you around. *hugs*
Steph, with the Thanksgiving American holiday just a couple of days away, I wanted to wish you and Patty Lou a Happy Thanksgiving.
You know, with all of the bad times you have had this year, now is the time to be thankful for what you have, and Patty Lou is probably at the top of the list. That is the way to get through the holidays. Be thankful for what you have and don't dwell on the bad stuff right now. A job will come your way. I know it will. Just keep thinking positive.
Thinking of you often.
